When was the last time your team played a full 7 inning game in travel ball? And why does that matter?

It’s no wonder the NCAA Transfer Portal is boasting in popularity amongst college coaches. It is their opportunity to bring in experienced and physically conditioned athletes accustomed to enduring a grinding season of 56-games (Division I max). Often, first year players take 1-2 seasons to physically and mentally sustain the nearly daily rigor of a 2.5 hour game. Pitchers at the travel ball level are used to throwing 1-2 innings and resting. If we can encourage and restore the authentic game back into our travel ball system, players will be better prepared to make an immediate impact at the next level and college coaches will turn to reputable programs that are preparing their athletes to thrive at the next level.
